BC Programme Music (Performance and Production) Year 10 & 11 Applications.
Music Performance runs for 5 weeks (5:30 - 7pm) on Mondays. Start Date: 10th November 2025. Music Performance allows you to form a band and develop your rehearsal and performance skills. This will be in our college rehearsal studio under the experienced guidance of a music tutor from Burnley College. You will need to be able to play an instrument in order to make the most out of this course. You do not need to have 'mastered' your instrument, but you need to be able to competently learn and play songs within a short timeframe.
Music Production runs for 5 weeks (5:30 - 7pm) on Mondays. Start Date: 23rd February 2025. Music Production allows you to use state of the art music technology software platforms and provides you with the basic skills required to create and produce music. This course doesn't involve any instrumental skills so you are not required to play an instrument. This course introduces the basic skills required to make music in the digital age and gives you insight into the world of beat production and also how to produce music. For this course you will need a pair of wired headphones.
These courses are an excellent choice if you are looking to start on one of our music or music technology and production programmes at college, they provide you an insight into the resources we have, what our lessons look like, and it also gives you a chance to meet future course mates.
Entry Requirements: There are no formal entry requirements for this taster programme. This programme is open to students in year 10 & 11.
Equipment Needed:
- Music Performance - Please bring your own instruments, cables, and accessories if you are interested in the first course. We will provide amplifiers, drum kits, and keyboards.
- Music Production - Please bring wired headphones.
Equipment Supplied: You will have access to our rehearsal spaces, which are fitted with drum kits, amps, keyboards, microphones and PA systems.
