Are you a ‘human geographer’ or a ‘physical geographer’? Do you enjoy looking at population distribution over the reasons why a volcano might erupt? In A Level Geography you will study both the human physical environment, and the causality that exists between activity and the state of our planet. You will have the opportunity to develop a range of skills, including photograph interpretation, data analysis, essay writing and map reading and have access to extensive use of the College’s technology and Geographical Information Systems.

Entry Requirements: 5 GCSEs at Grade 5 or above - Including English, Mathematics and Geography

Field work skills will be developed as part of the course and the previous trips have included Keswick, Malham Tarn and Afon Conwy in Wales. Students are encouraged to get involved and plan their field trip! You will carry out land-use surveys, questionnaires, soil samples and other experiments and discuss their validity and reliability.
