If you love reading and are keen to explore new texts this is the course for you. Develop an in-depth knowledge of a range of classic and contemporary literary texts by bringing them to life in the social, political and historical context in which they were created.
Explore Drama and Poetry pre 1900 (“Hamlet”, “The Duchess of Malfi” and “Paradise Lost”) and Dystopian Literature (“1984” and “The Handmaid’s Tale”) and complete an assessment on a contemporary piece of literature of your choice. Perfect your transferable skills with critical thinking, sourcing and referencing, evaluating and reasoning, debating and comparison.
Requirements: 5 GCSEs at Grade 5 or above which includes English Language and Mathematics and a Grade 6 in English Literature.
Assessment: You will be assessed through external examinations (80%) and coursework (20%).
