We are recruiting a temporary full‑time Memorial Safety/Cemetery Operative to provide support and assistance to the existing memorial safety/cemetery team based in Burnley Cemetery.
Duties will include:
- Memorial safety
- Grounds maintenance
- Burial operations within Burnley cemeteries and closed churchyards, including grave digging
The use and operation of mechanical equipment and power tools will be required for which training will be provided. You will also be required to complete daily check sheets for vehicles, machinery, equipment etc.
It is essential you have experience of construction‑related work and of safe working practices on public accessible sites. You must have the ability to prepare graves and operate cemetery machinery such as excavators and dumpers. You must also have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and be able to complete accurate records of inspections both manually and via a web‑based application.
It is essential you are able to work as part of a team and have the ability to use your own initiative when carrying out duties.
