Are you an experienced Clinical Supervisor? Do you have experience that matches your passion for improving mental health & wellbeing? We’re looking for a Supervisor supporting therapists working with adults or children.

What difference will you make?

You will be a part of our small, friendly, forward-thinking charity team, focused on reaching people affected by this rare, painful and debilitating chronic pain condition and to provide them with psychological support whether they are patients, loved ones or carers. As this service is continuing to expand, you will have a key role in helping to develop a counselling & psychotherapy programme that will complement the other support services that we offer. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to support the Counselling & Therapy Team as they make a real difference in someone’s life which is already isolated and painful, who may not have received any psychological support. You will join the Charity during a critical and challenging period, and your expert knowledge and experience will be invaluable to our success.

What are we looking for?

1. Essential Psychotherapy/Counselling qualification with a minimum of 2 years post qualification experience in a similar field.
2. Qualification in Clinical Supervision – ideally level 7 or above (could also suit experienced counsellors who require a placement during Clinical Supervision placement, or experienced counsellors wishing to gain experience in supervision).
3. Accreditation/registration (or working at the level of or towards this qualification) as a Supervisor with BACP/HCPC/BAPT or equivalent.
4. Significant proven experience of supervising individual counsellors/psychotherapists from a range of training backgrounds one to one & group.
5. Appropriate and proven clinical experience of working with clients with a range of difficulties including complex medical health issues, loss and bereavement.
6. Willingness to engage in any Burning Nights CRPS Support training.
7. Understanding of issues regarding confidentiality and management of risk within a counselling service.
8. Good administrative skills.
9. Understanding of the voluntary sector.
10. Commitment to ongoing engagement in personal supervision.
11. Knowledgeable of and committed to equalities’ provision.

Desirable:

1. Appropriate and proven clinical experience of working with clients living with or affected by chronic pain or chronic conditions.
2. Being able to supervise therapists who work in therapy such as CBT, ACT, EMDR etc.
3. Experience of working within a low-cost / free voluntary sector counselling setting.
4. Experience of working within the voluntary charity sector.
5. Commitment to continuing professional development.

What will you be doing?

We’re urgently looking for a volunteer Clinical Supervisor for our small national charity working with anyone affected by a rare but debilitating chronic pain condition. We need help to:

1. Meet the increased demand for our therapeutic service.
2. Help us to broaden and develop our outreach provision at schools/colleges and for social prescribers and the NHS.

We’d love a volunteer Clinical Supervisor who is experienced in remote working. Alongside this, you’ll:

1. Facilitate Clinical Supervision one to one and group sessions on a monthly or fortnightly basis (online).
2. Administer this supervision from invitation through to record keeping.
3. Take part in complex case assessments.
4. Maintain appropriate clinical records of all work and to report, along with any concerns on individuals or their practice to the Clinical Lead or Chair of Trustees.
5. Commit to ongoing supervision of supervision practice at Burning Nights CRPS Support as well as engaging in separate own personal supervision as/if appropriate.
6. Work flexibly as part of a small team as necessary to provide maximum coverage for supervision, such as in the event of emergencies.
7. Abide by all Burning Nights CRPS Support policies and procedures.
8. Adhere to BACP, BABCP (or other appropriate therapies governing body) Ethical Framework.
