We’re Hiring: Paralegal or NQ Solicitor – Immigration, Public Law & Litigation
Burney Legal is expanding and we’re seeking a Paralegal OR Newly Qualified Solicitor to join our Immigration & Public Law team. This is a rare opportunity to gain hands-on exposure to Judicial Reviews, sponsor-licence challenges, complex immigration matters, family/human-rights work, and civil/commercial disputes from the outset. We welcome applicants at different stages of their legal careers. Responsibilities will be tailored to experience, and training and supervision will be provided where needed.

Key Responsibilities
- Public Law & Judicial Review
- Drafting Pre-Action Protocol letters, grounds for Judicial Review, witness statements & evidence bundles
- Preparing N244, N461, N463 and urgent injunction/relief applications
- Liaising with the Government Legal Department and courts
- Legal research on case law, Home Office guidance, and public law principles
- Handling Skilled Worker, Sponsor Licence, long residence & human-rights routes
- Preparing Appendix FM and 10-year/5-year route applications
- Preparing Applications for Naturalisation and Indefinite Leave to Remain
- Building comprehensive evidence bundles and drafting strong legal representations
- Assisting businesses with licence applications, HR compliance, and revocation challenges
- Assisting with director/shareholder disputes, breach-of-contract issues, and general civil claims
- Client communication, file management, evidence collation, Ce-File submissions
- Preparing bills of costs and negotiating following consent orders
What We’re Looking For
We welcome applications from:
- Experienced Paralegals with immigration, public law or litigation exposure
- NQ Solicitors looking to specialise in immigration & public law
You should have:
- Strong drafting and analytical skills
- Excellent organisation and time-management
- Clear, confident communication and strong client-care instincts
- Ability to work under pressure and handle deadlines
- Ce-File familiarity (advantageous)
Qualifications
- Paralegals: Law degree required; LPC/SQE desirable
- NQ Solicitors: England & Wales qualified
- Prior immigration or litigation experience preferred
