Are you a pensions expert who could be part of a market-leading team known for taking a refreshing approach to a complex subject? We are looking to recruit an Associate/Senior Associate/Director (5-10 PQE) for our Pensions team in either Aberdeen, Edinburgh or Glasgow. We are also open to applications UK-wide.
The successful candidate should have experience in corporate transactional support work, and general pensions law experience, reflecting their level of qualification. Ideally, candidates will have experience of working on DB schemes, and be familiar with benefit and documentation issues and project work such as GMP equalisation and de-risking. Experience of advising on DC schemes and master trusts, and on contentious pensions matters, would be an advantage, but is not essential.
You must have a passion for pensions law, be pragmatic and results focused, and be able to work as a key member of our team. We are looking for candidates with a positive attitude, willingness to learn and to train others, excellent written and oral communication skills, and who are determined to provide a first-class service to clients.
At the heart of Burness Paull is our independence. Itβs this that gives us the licence to shape our business and culture in the sustainable way we want to, supporting the needs of our people, our clients, our wider community and the environment. It means freedom to pursue a philosophy of always being human in attitude and high-performing in approach. For our people that means recognising everyone is different and valuing those differences. A culture that celebrates openness and where genuine advice and relationships are championed. An environment that encourages everyone to aim for success by being the best version of themselves.
And because we value the contribution that every one of our team makes, we make sure everyone is rewarded over and above the usual benefits you'd expect from a leading law firm. That means bonus schemes for all employees, family-friendly policies that stand out in the market, and a range of health & wellbeing initiatives that take a holistic approach to support our colleagues. We set the bar high. Our clients and people love that.
