We are seeking an experienced Operations & Maintenance Manager for our Craigellachie Biomass CHP Plant in Aberlour, Scotland. In this role, you will lead and develop our Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations teams, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient plant performance. You will collaborate closely with the Plant Manager, internal stakeholders, and external partners, while driving operational excellence and long‑term asset integrity.
Key tasks will be to:
- Manage day‑to‑day plant operations and maintenance to achieve availability and reliability targets
- Oversee fuel route and by‑product management
- Develop long‑term engineering integrity and maintenance strategies for all mechanical, electrical, and C&I assets
- Establish and maintain an asset risk register supporting the station’s business plan
- Oversee CMMS, planned and reactive maintenance, site safety rules, OPEX budgets, and contractual obligations
- Lead planning, scheduling, and coordination of all planned and unplanned outages
- Drive process safety, emergency arrangements, and compliance with UK HSE legislation
- Act as Plant Manager when required and contribute to strategic business planning
We foresee that the ideal candidate is self‑motivated, highly organised, adaptable, and driven by strong ethical standards and a collaborative approach. You work confidently in a dynamic environment and bring both technical insight and leadership skills to the role. You bring:
- A degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years in a maintenance‑ and engineering‑focused managerial role
- Knowledge of thermal or biomass power plant processes (preferred)
- Strong leadership capabilities and solid financial acumen
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A full UK driving licence; occasional travel required
