An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head of Maintenance to join a leading London-based organisation, overseeing the maintenance and operational performance of a large, complex estate. Reporting into the senior estates leadership team, you'll lead the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance through outsourced Hard FM providers, ensuring statutory compliance, contractor performance and high service standards across a diverse property portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance services.
  • Manage outsourced Hard FM contracts, ensuring KPIs and SLAs are achieved.
  • Oversee statutory compliance across building services, including fire safety, Legionella, asbestos, electrical systems and mechanical plant.
  • Manage maintenance budgets, contractor performance and service improvements.
  • Provide technical advice on maintenance, engineering and building services.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation, permit-to-work systems and safe systems of work.
  • Produce reports and performance data to support operational decision-making.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, contractors and external partners.

About You

  • Significant experience leading maintenance operations across a large and complex estate.
  • Strong background managing outsourced Hard FM contracts and contractor performance.
  • Excellent knowledge of statutory compliance, building services and Health & Safety legislation.
  • Experience managing maintenance budgets, KPIs and service delivery.
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Building Services, Engineering, Building Surveying or a related discipline is desirable.
