A leading UK university is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join its Estates Reactive Maintenance team, supporting a large and diverse academic estate. You will deliver high-quality planned and reactive electrical maintenance across multiple campus buildings, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and service level agreements. This is a hands-on role within a busy maintenance team responsible for thousands of reactive and preventative tasks annually.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance, fault finding and repair of power and lighting systems
  • Testing and inspection of low voltage systems in line with BS7671
  • Supervision of fire alarm and emergency lighting maintenance
  • Acting as Low Voltage Authorised Person (LVAP) (subject to training)
  • Supporting contractors and specialist suppliers
  • Using CAFM systems to log works, risk assessments and compliance records
  • Participating in on-call rota (1 in 4/5 weekends, standby allowance payable)
  • Supporting apprentices and electrical improvers

Essential Requirements:

  • Recognised electrical apprenticeship
  • NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Electrical Installation or Maintenance
  • 18th Edition (BS7671)
  • AM2 qualification
  • Strong knowledge of electrical safe isolation and statutory compliance
  • Experience in reactive and planned maintenance environments
  • Full UK driving licence
  • 2391 Testing & Inspection, ECS card and experience within large estates environments are desirable.
