A leading higher-education organisation is seeking an experienced Fire Risk Assessor to join its central safety team and help deliver best-in-class fire safety management across a large, complex estate.
The Role
You will act as a key technical authority for fire safety, providing expert advice and oversight across a diverse portfolio of academic, residential and public-facing buildings. Your responsibilities will include:
- Undertaking, reviewing and managing Fire Risk Assessments (PAS 79)
- Providing technical and legislative fire safety advice to senior stakeholders
- Supporting new builds, refurbishments and events from a fire safety perspective
- Delivering fire safety audits, inspections and emergency planning
- Facilitating fire drills, incident investigations and training
- Helping to embed a positive fire safety culture across the organisation
Requirements
Essential:
- Level 3 Fire Risk Assessment qualification with 2+ years' experience or NEBOSH Fire Safety Certificate with 3+ years' operational experience
- Strong working knowledge of UK fire safety legislation and guidance
- Experience delivering PAS 79 Fire Risk Assessments
- Experience providing fire safety training and technical advice
- Ability to interpret drawings, plans and building layouts
- Good IT skills (Microsoft 365 / cloud systems)
Desirable:
- Level 4 Fire Risk Assessment qualification
- Registration on a recognised Fire Risk Assessor Register
