A leading higher-education organisation is seeking an experienced Fire Safety Advisor to join its central safety team and help deliver best-in-class fire safety management across a large, complex estate.

The Role

You will act as a key technical authority for fire safety, providing expert advice and oversight across a diverse portfolio of academic, residential and public-facing buildings.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Undertaking, reviewing and managing Fire Risk Assessments (PAS 79)
  • Providing technical and legislative fire safety advice to senior stakeholders
  • Supporting new builds, refurbishments and events from a fire safety perspective
  • Delivering fire safety audits, inspections and emergency planning
  • Facilitating fire drills, incident investigations and training
  • Helping to embed a positive fire safety culture across the organisation

Requirements

Essential:

  • Level 3 Fire Risk Assessment qualification with 3+ years' experience or NEBOSH Fire Safety Certificate with 4+ years' operational experience
  • Strong working knowledge of UK fire safety legislation and guidance
  • Experience delivering PAS 79 Fire Risk Assessments
  • Experience providing fire safety training and technical advice
  • Ability to interpret drawings, plans and building layouts
  • Good IT skills (Microsoft 365 / cloud systems)

Desirable:

  • Level 4 Fire Risk Assessment qualification
  • Registration on a recognised Fire Risk Assessor Register
