Fire Safety Adviser
Location: London
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent (Hybrid, 3 days a week onsite)
Role Overview
We are seeking a Fire Safety Adviser to support the development and implementation of fire safety policies, risk assessments, and compliance measures across multiple campuses. Working within the Health & Safety team, this role ensures adherence to fire safety legislation, industry standards, and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out and review fire risk assessments, ensuring compliance with fire safety legislation and British Standards (BS 9999, BS 9991).
- Provide technical fire safety advice to staff, students, and key stakeholders.
- Assist in the development and implementation of fire safety policies, procedures, and training.
- Support fire safety audits and inspections, identifying areas for improvement.
- Work closely with the Health & Safety team to ensure a safe and compliant campus environment.
Person Specification
Essential:
- Level 4 qualification in Fire Safety (or equivalent).
- Proven experience conducting and reviewing complex fire risk assessments within large organizations.
- Strong knowledge of fire safety legislation, building regulations (ADB), and British Standards.
Desirable:
- Experience in higher education, healthcare, or large estates.
- Familiarity with fire safety management systems and emergency planning.
