Job Description
I’m currently working with a leading UK university on the search for a Deputy Director of Finance & Procurement (Management Accounting & Business Partnering) on a 6-month contract. This senior role is based in the south of England with hybrid working available.
You will lead a team of finance business partners, providing trusted financial insight to support budget holders, shape decision-making, and deliver the University’s long-term strategy. The role will also deputise for the Director of Finance & Procurement when required.
Experience Required:
• Proven track record at senior level in a large and complex organisation, ideally in Higher Education or a comparable sector.
• Strong leadership experience managing large teams, multiple projects and tight deadlines.
• Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to deliver imaginative and practical solutions.
• High-level technical accounting expertise, with strong IT and advanced spreadsheet skills.
• Ability to produce high-quality reports and present complex financial issues clearly to senior colleagues and non-finance stakeholders.
• Demonstrable experience in driving improvements to financial processes and delivering tangible benefits.
• Understanding of financial issues facing the Higher Education sector.
