HR Projects & Policy Officer

Location: Hybrid working (East Anglia)

Hours: Full-time (37 hours per week)

Contract: Fixed Term - 6-month FTC

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an HR Projects & Policy Officer to join a Higher Education institution, supporting a range of strategic people initiatives.

Working closely with senior HR leaders, you'll play a key role in delivering HR projects, supporting organisational change programmes, developing HR policies and ensuring employment practices remain aligned with legislation and sector best practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the planning and delivery of HR projects and organisational change initiatives.
  • Develop, review and implement HR policies and procedures in line with employment legislation.
  • Coordinate consultation activities and work collaboratively with HR colleagues, senior stakeholders and Trade Unions.
  • Produce project plans, reports, communications and governance documentation.
  • Support the implementation of new HR policies through guidance, toolkits, training and stakeholder engagement.
  • Analyse HR data and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

About You

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Experience working within an HR environment with exposure to HR policy development or implementation.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills.
  • A sound understanding of UK employment legislation.
  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to produce clear policies, reports and guidance.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Experience supporting organisational change or HR projects.

Desirable

  • Experience within Higher Education or the wider public sector.
  • Experience working in a unionised environment.
  • CIPD Level 5 (or working towards).
  • Experience delivering briefings or training sessions.
