The Role

We are working with a large education provider undergoing a major programme of integration and organisational transformation. To support this work, we are seeking an experienced Change Manager to join the central transformation team on a 0.6 FTE basis .

This role has a strong focus on stakeholder engagement, behavioural adoption, and organisation design impacts . You will help shape and deliver people-centred change strategies that enable staff to transition to new operating models, structures, systems, and policies.

Alongside the wider integration programme, you will play a key role in delivering a Policy Alignment Project —supporting staff engagement, operating model alignment, and adoption of a new digital policy management system across both academic and professional services communities.

Key Responsibilities

Change Strategy & Delivery

  • Design and deliver change management plans focused on engagement, communication, and behavioural adoption.
  • Assess organisational change impacts and readiness across functions and business areas.
  • Develop practical interventions to address change fatigue and resistance.
  • Align change plans with programme milestones and new operating model designs.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communications

  • Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across academic and professional services.
  • Lead engagement activity to ensure clarity of change purpose, outcomes, and impact.
  • Translate complex programme messages into clear, compelling communications.
  • Facilitate workshops that support understanding, collaboration, and buy-in.

Organisation Design & Ways of Working

  • Support the delivery of org design changes, including structural and role impacts.
  • Work with HR and functional leads to enable transitions to new ways of working.
  • Support capability-building and adoption of new roles and responsibilities.

Policy Alignment Project

  • Support rollout and embedding of a new digital policy management system.
  • Drive awareness, engagement, and behavioural adoption of new policy processes.
  • Coordinate policy engagement activities with business areas and governance groups.

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Work as part of a small, collaborative programme team.
  • Support and coach leaders and managers to sponsor and lead change.
  • Promote best practice in change, engagement, and adoption.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Proven experience delivering change in large, complex environments.
  • Strong track record of engagement and communication-led change delivery.
  • Experience supporting organisation design and operating model change.
  • Confident working with senior stakeholders and steering groups.
  • Skilled at building trust, influencing, and resolving resistance.
  • Excellent facilitation skills with experience running workshops.
  • A proactive and collaborative style with strong delivery focus.

Desirable

  • Experience in Higher Education, NHS, charity, or public sector.
  • Experience with policy frameworks or governance-led change.
  • Exposure to transformation involving digital systems or enterprise change.
  • Change management qualification (e.g. Prosci, APMG, CIPD) or equivalent.
