A large, complex UK estate owner is seeking an experienced Engineering Contracts Manager to lead the development, negotiation and management of engineering maintenance contracts across a diverse portfolio of buildings. This senior role will oversee both planned and reactive maintenance contracts (mechanical, electrical and statutory compliance), managing the full contract lifecycle from strategy and tendering through to performance management and close-out.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing multi-year maintenance frameworks and commercial strategies
- Leading high-value contract negotiations and dispute resolution
- Managing contractor performance, KPIs, SLAs and risk
- Ensuring compliance with health, safety and regulatory requirements
- Driving governance, process improvement and data-led decision making
- Line management, staff development and internal training on contract management (NEC/JCT)
About you:
- Proven experience managing maintenance contracts across multiple buildings
- Strong background in mechanical & electrical maintenance and statutory compliance
- Experience with NEC and/or JCT contracts
- Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation and analytical skills
- Good working knowledge of health & safety and operational risk
- Degree-level qualification (or equivalent experience); H&S qualifications desirable
