This is an exciting opportunity for a highly capable and experienced Events Operations Manager to join a small but growing team at a niche B2B media business. Our events are proving popular and successful and we now need a dedicated ops person to shepherd us into the future.
The ideal candidate will be someone who has operationally overseen big and small content-led events for a variety of event/media houses, who now wants to work with a friendly, smaller team and benefit from a shorter working week.
Our Events Operations Manager will be responsible for end-to-end operational delivery of our in-person content events (both our conference-style events and microevents and smaller gatherings) and content-programmed virtual events. All our events are currently UK-based, and overall workload includes:
- 2x 120+ pax conferences which we are growing
- 5-6x 40-80 pax microconferences
- A variety of roundtables/community get-togethers we are in the process of launching
We are well-known and respected in our niche, which is senior management professionals in law firms. Our events team works very closely with editorial and community people – we pride ourselves on being fully integrated in that regard, which helps everyone create great outcomes.
Your job will be to ensure the professional, efficient and seamless organisation of all event logistics. You will work on events for our longstanding media/events brands Briefing and Legal Practice Management, acting as the operational point of contact, ensuring consistency, quality and best practice across delivery.
We will expect you to contribute strategically as well as operationally, working hand-in-hand with our Senior Events Producer to plan and deliver events, making best use of event venue and third-party providers, while being highly client-focused to ensure sponsors get superb customer success.
Experience:
- 3+ full years of proven experience in B2B event operations management
Main areas of responsibility:
- End-to-end management and delivery of our content-led events, working closely with the Senior Events Producer
- Manage and maintain project management of events using our PM tool, Monday
- Source and negotiate with suppliers and venues
- Manage virtual event platform for virtual events
- Compile relevant information for clients such as sponsor packs, event requirements, merch agreements and so on
- Sponsor fulfilment for events
- Creation of event signage and other materials and collateral
- Organise and upload content for digital event delegate packs
- Organise staffing plans and requirements to include task allocation, travel and accommodation booking
- Be responsible for all on-the-day logistics and the event day plan
- Ensure high efficiency and lead the creation, implementation and consistent application of operational processes
- Responsibility for cost controls and operational P&L across all content-led events
- Consult proactively and in a timely way with the wider business to ensure delivery of all event components and deliverables
- Post-event evaluation process management

Who will you work with?
You will be assisted internally by our CRM, marketing and data executive inside the business. We have dedicated marketing manager resource for Unicorn. We will review the possibility for further recruitment to the Unicorn business area regularly. We have external partners for product development, data verification, data protection (Unicorn already has a consultant DPO) that you will work with regularly. You will report directly to one of the co-CEOs - this is an important area of potential for the business.
