WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Live-in Care Jobs in Taunton – What the Role Involves
At least 6 months professional care experience
NVQ/QCF Level 2 in Health & Social Care or Care Certificate
Confident with medication administration
Right to work in the UK (we cannot offer visa sponsorship)
Willingness to commit to 2-4 week rotations
Caring attitude and communication skills
Good cooking skills
Physical fitness for moving and handling
An enhanced DBS on the update would be ideal, or be willing for us to apply for one for you?
What Is Live-In Care?
Live-in care in Taunton allows you to provide one-to-one support by living in your client’s home for 2 to 4 weeks. You’ll have your own room and meals included.

Your Role as a Live-In Carer
You’ll support clients in their Taunton homes, improving their quality of life through personalised care and companionship.
Your daily duties include:
- Personal care – washing, dressing, toileting, maintaining dignity
- Medication administration – safely managing prescriptions and accurate MAR charts
- Meal planning and cooking – preparing nutritious food
- Companionship – meaningful conversations, activities, accompanying to appointments
- Light housekeeping – keeping the home clean and safe
- Shopping and errands – prescriptions, weekly shopping
- Monitoring and communicating – observing health changes and liaising with families
You may support someone living with dementia, recovering from a stroke, managing Parkinson’s disease, or receiving palliative care.
You’ll also become a trusted companion. The small details matter - how someone takes their tea, their favourite music, or simply being a reassuring presence.
