What You’ll Need:
- At least 6 months professional care experience.
- NVQ/QCF Level 2 in Health & Social Care or Care Certificate.
- Confident with medication administration.
- Right to work in the UK (we cannot offer visa sponsorship).
- Willingness to commit to 2–4 week rotations.
- Caring attitude and communication skills.
- Good cooking skills.
- Physical fitness for moving and handling.
- An enhanced DBS on the update would be ideal, or be willing for us to apply for one for you.
What Is Live-In Care?
Live-in care in Bournemouth is different from working in domiciliary care or a care home. As a live-in carer, you’ll stay in your client’s home for 2 to 4 weeks, providing support, companionship and care. You’ll have your own private bedroom, with all meals provided.
Your Role as a Live-In Carer:
- Personal care – washing, dressing, toileting, maintaining dignity.
- Medication administration – safely managing prescriptions and accurate MAR charts.
- Meal planning and cooking – preparing nutritious food.
- Companionship – meaningful conversations, activities, accompanying to appointments.
- Light housekeeping – keeping the home clean and safe.
- Shopping and errands – prescriptions, weekly shopping.
- Monitoring and communicating – observing health changes and liaising with families.
You may care for someone with dementia, support someone recovering from a stroke, manage Parkinson's disease, or provide palliative care. The little things really do make the biggest differences.
