We are seeking a proactive and highly organised Paralegal / Legal Support Assistant to join our busy and well-regarded Residential Property team within our Liphook office. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about property law and eager to develop their career within a supportive environment.

Day to day work will be under the supervision of the fee earner to whom the Paralegal is providing support, providing essential administrative and legal support across a varied caseload of residential conveyancing matters, including freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, remortgages, and transfers of equity.

The successful applicant will ideally have experience of supporting a residential conveyancing department with a good understanding of the property legal system. They will have excellent office administration and communication skills, be proficient with Microsoft Office applications and be able to multitask effectively, along with the confidence to complete time sensitive work under pressure.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Undertaking full file creation procedures and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and firm processes
  • Organising, maintaining and tracking files throughout the course of a matter to ensure progress in a timely manner including liaising with clients and third parties where necessary
  • Drafting correspondence, legal forms and documents for review by the supervising fee earner
  • Undertaking appropriate research and preparing cases for presentation to clients
  • Meeting with and taking instructions from clients and drafting documentation following clients’ instructions
  • Implementing and maintaining systems for the benefit of both the paralegal and fee earner
  • Preparing financial documentation and analysing financial ledgers
  • Handling completion and post-completion matters, and managing Land Registry applications and requisitions
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date diary management
  • Providing general administrative support while greeting clients face to face and managing telephone enquiries in a professional and welcoming manner
  • Maintaining confidentiality and ensuring high attention to detail at all times
