We are seeking an experienced and driven Course Manager to lead the day-to-day management of our golf courses and driving range facilities at Hoebridge Golf Centre. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for delivering exceptional course conditions, developing a high-performing greenkeeping team, and ensuring our venue is recognised as the premier family-focused golf and leisure destination in the region. You will combine hands-on expertise with strategic leadership, ensuring the highest standards across all aspects of course maintenance, operations, and team performance.
Hoebridge offers an 18 hole Jacobs designed Main Course, 9 hole 'Shey Copse' Course, and 18 Hole 'Maybury' Par 3 Course. Alongside the 45 holes, we also offer a wide range of practice facilities including a 31 bay trackman driving range, putting green and short game practice area. Outside of golf, Hoebridge boasts a newly refurbished Technogym Gym, 18 hole Pirate themed course, function rooms and a busy Food & Beverage area. Hoebridge, part of the Burhill Group, is a busy Golf Centre open to both Members and Visitors. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the maintenance and presentation of the golf courses and driving range to the highest standards.
- Actively contribute to daily greenkeeping operations, including mowing, aeration, fertilisation, irrigation, and pest control.
- Lead and deliver course improvement projects such as renovations, drainage, and turfing.
- Monitor turf health and implement proactive solutions to maintain optimal playing conditions.
- Ensure all equipment, machinery, and facilities are maintained and operating efficiently.
Strategy & Operations
- Support the General Manager in delivering the club's strategic objectives.
- Develop and implement operational plans to drive performance and profitability.
- Continuously improve processes to enhance customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
- Stay informed on industry trends and identify opportunities for innovation and growth.
Team Leadership
- Lead, motivate, and develop a team of greenkeeping professionals.
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management.
- Foster a positive, high-performance culture with clear communication and accountability.
- Ensure full compliance with training, health & safety, and company policies.
Financial Management
- Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial performance of the greenkeeping division.
- Monitor costs, control expenditure, and drive efficiency.
- Deliver against revenue targets and key performance indicators.
- Ensure accurate reporting and adherence to purchasing and stock control procedures.
Customer Experience
- Play a key role in delivering outstanding member and guest experiences.
- Maintain strong communication with members through digital platforms.
- Ensure course presentation consistently exceeds expectations.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in golf course management or senior greenkeeping leadership.
- Strong technical knowledge of turf management, irrigation, and machinery.
- A hands-on leader with excellent organisational and project management skills.
- Financial awareness with experience managing budgets and KPIs.
- Passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences.
- Relevant spraying qualifications (including Pa 1,2 & 6a).
- Experience of irrigation equipment and watering techniques.
- Chainsaw certificate (desirable).
