The Shropshire Golf Centre is a well-established, thriving golf club situated within the Telford countryside, featuring a 27-hole main course, short course and driving range. Alongside our successful membership offering, we host a wide range of events including weddings, corporate functions, private celebrations, golf days, and community events. Our offering continues to grow, and we are looking for someone who can build on this success supporting the Sales Manager in working towards a unified goal.

We are looking for a motivated and proactive Sales Executive to become an integral part of our sales team. Operating within a dynamic members' club environment, with a strong reputation and being a successful wedding venue, this role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to business growth while helping deliver exceptional experiences for both members and guests.

As Sales Executive, you will be responsible for identifying and developing revenue-generating opportunities across multiple areas of the club, including memberships, golf societies, events, weddings, and corporate bookings. Working collaboratively with the operations and events teams, you will help ensure a smooth customer journey from initial enquiry through to successful event delivery. We are looking for someone who can demonstrate flexibility in their working patterns. The role will involve working weekends on a regular basis and occasional evenings, depending on business needs. The successful candidate will be adaptable and willing to work across a range of shift patterns.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Managing incoming sales enquiries and converting leads into bookings
  • Driving sales across weddings, corporate events, golf days, membership, and private functions
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, members, and local businesses
  • Developing new business opportunities and partnerships through outreach and networking
  • Conducting site visits and client meetings
  • Coordinating with the events and hospitality teams to ensure exceptional customer experiences
  • Achieving agreed targets
  • Audit, mystery shop and spot-check compliance
  • Maintaining accurate records and contract paperwork
Key Experience, Skills and Attributes:
  • Experience in the hospitality sector is essential
  • Experience of working in sales in a target driven environment is desirable but not essential
  • Good communication skills: Verbal, Written and Listening
  • Good time management, organisation, and prioritisation skills
  • Excellent relationship building skills to work alongside a wider team
  • Ability to drive and have own vehicle is desirable but not essential for networking opportunities
