Due to continued, rapid expansion of our outsourcing department, we are looking for an experienced Senior Bookkeeper with Payroll experience to join our team and take responsibility for delivering high‑quality bookkeeping & payroll services across a portfolio of clients. This role suits someone who is confident working on their own initiative, but who also values being part of a collaborative team environment.

The Role

  • You will be responsible for the full bookkeeping cycle for multiple businesses, including:
    • Bank, supplier and customer reconciliations
    • Maintenance of control accounts
    • Preparation and submission of VAT returns
    • Producing accurate bookkeeping records suitable for management reporting and year‑end accounts
    • Monthly payroll for around 6 clients using BrightPay, and Xero
    • Managing workloads across multiple clients and meeting deadlines

About You

  • You will be comfortable working independently and taking ownership of your work
  • Equally able to work as part of a wider team and support other team members
  • Experienced in working with multiple businesses at the same time
  • Well‑organised, with strong prioritisation skills
  • Detail‑focused, with a commitment to accuracy and quality
  • Experience using Cloud bookkeeping systems (Xero and advantage)

Working Pattern

  • Office‑based during the initial probationary period, subject to experience

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent. We will accept part-time and are happy to consider a job sharing role.

Pay: £depending on experience

Expected hours: 20+ per week up to full time
