The Burghley Estate is a diverse business centred in the town of Stamford, Lincolnshire.

The Estate extends to 12,000 acres, with a significant property portfolio, as well as an in-hand farm, sporting interests, an extensive events calendar, forestry enterprise and hospitality businesses.

At the heart of the Estate is Burghley House, a Grade 1 listed Elizabethan stately home set within 1,500 acres of historic parkland.

We are seeking a skilled administrator with excellent IT skills to join our Land and Property team.

The team include surveyors, a lettings manager, the building services and estate maintenance team.

The role will offer administrative support to the team to help them effectively deliver the day-to-day management of the Estates property portfolio.

  • Main Responsibilities
  • Administrative Support – Head of Land and Property
  • Working closely with the Head of Land and Property to manage diary commitments, meeting coordination, and support with email management.
  • Following up from meetings and ensuring actions are tracked.
  • Helping to track team actions across several different disciplines, follow up on behalf of Head of Land and Property, helping to ensure timely responses and delivery.
  • Preparation of reports and presentations.
  • Managing other elements of Head of Land and Property’s role, including but not limited to travel arrangements, expenses and liaison with external stakeholders.
  • Embracing AI functions to help deliver efficiency and outputs.
  • Property and Tenancy Administration
  • Provide administrative support to Assistant Agents and other members of the team as required.
  • Organise and monitor routine landlord and tenant activities, including: o Residential, commercial, and agricultural rent reviews o Property inspections o Lease renewals o End‑of‑tenancy processes
  • Maintain accurate digital records and documentation relating to these activities.
  • Customer Service and Communication
  • Act as the first point of contact for telephone, email, and face‑to‑face enquiries.
  • Respond to or direct enquiries to the appropriate team member in a professional and timely manner.
  • Office Administration
  • Carry out general office duties, including: o Distributing internal post o Managing stationery supplies o Conducting routine fire alarm checks
  • Assist the Building Maintenance team by logging and prioritising maintenance requests using Fixflo software.
  • Records Management
  • Maintain and organise both electronic and paper-based filing systems.
  • Ensure property and estate records are accurate, up to date, and easily accessible.

Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate will have

  • Previous experience in an administrative role
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • The ability to learn and use new software systems quickly
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organisational and time‑management abilities
  • Good problem‑solving skills
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Experience of using AI to effectively deliver multiple tasks
