As part of our continued growth, we are looking to recruit an ambitious Trainee Conveyancer to join our expanding conveyancing department with a clear pathway to becoming an independent Conveyancer/Licensed Conveyancer within 18-24 months. This role is ideal for someone with previous experience as a Conveyancing Assistant or Legal Assistant who is now looking to take the next step in their career and begin handling conveyancing matters with ongoing support, training, and development.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to develop your career within residential conveyancing whilst working alongside experienced conveyancers and senior members of the team. You will gradually gain responsibility for managing your own caseload under supervision whilst continuing to build your technical knowledge, client management skills, and understanding of the conveyancing process from instruction through to completion. The role will involve working within a fast-paced environment where client service, communication, and efficiency are highly valued.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the management of residential conveyancing transactions
  • Progressing files under supervision from instruction through to completion
  • Liaising with clients, estate agents, brokers, solicitors, and third parties
  • Drafting legal documents and correspondence
  • Reviewing contract documentation and search results
  • Handling client onboarding requirements including ID and AML checks
  • Updating clients and introducers regularly throughout the transaction
  • Maintaining accurate file notes and case management records
  • Supporting senior conveyancers and the wider department where required
  • Developing technical conveyancing knowledge and compliance understanding

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience as a Conveyancing Assistant or Legal Assistant within a residential conveyancing department (essential)
  • A strong desire to progress into a fee-earning conveyancing role
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • The ability to manage a busy and fast-paced workload
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude
  • Confidence using case management systems and digital technology
  • A willingness to learn, develop, and take ownership of responsibilities
  • The ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment
