The role is a full-time, in-office position on a 12-month fixed-term contract, based primarily in our Clapham office, with an immediate start and competitive salary and benefits.
Responsibilities:
- Preparing bundles (electronic and/or paper) for Counsel and Court
- Collating enclosures to Forms E and other financial disclosure
- Reviewing disclosure
- Attending conferences with Counsel and meetings with clients and taking notes
- Liaising with Court officials and Counsel clerks by telephone and email
- Using the online portal to submit financial consent orders and draft divorce petitions
- Updating correspondence or other documents in tracked changes with solicitors’ amendments
- Engrossing letters, collating attachments and sending correspondence by email, post and DX
- Setting up correspondence files for new clients and maintaining electronic filing
- Drafting the Burgess Mee case update each week
- Assisting with general office administration as needed including drafting emails, setting up meetings, booking couriers, sending post, collecting the DX and archiving
The successful applicant:
The successful candidate will ideally have prior paralegal experience in a busy firm and have completed the LPC or BTC, where applicable. They will also have knowledge of the intermediate features of Microsoft Office applications and Adobe. The role involves a number of responsibilities and, therefore, we are looking for proactive candidates with drive and enthusiasm. The successful candidate should be able to manage their workload and prioritise effectively. The firm holds itself to high standards and candidates applying for this position should work with the same ethos. They will have a demonstrable interest in family law. The successful candidate will be encouraged to attend internal training and seminars, as well as external networking events.
