The TeamOur Banking & Finance team is a leading finance practice with well over thirty lawyers, and advises on a wide range of domestic and cross-border financing transactions. Working with banks, alternative lenders, funds, corporates and sponsors, we support clients on complex transactions across a range of sectors including technology, financial services, healthcare, real estate, energy, infrastructure and the wider corporate market.
Led by Rachael Ruane, the Corporate Banking team is ranked Band 1 by Chambers & Partners in the South West and is recognised for its expertise in corporate banking and acquisition finance work. They routinely advise lenders, borrowers and investors on domestic and cross-border transactions.
The practice combines deep sector expertise with commercially focused advice and works closely with colleagues across Corporate, Tax, Private Wealth, Real Estate, Projects and Restructuring.

(Chambers)What You'll DoYou will play a key role on a broad range of financing transactions, including: Corporate lending transactions (bilateral and syndicated lending arrangements)Acquisition and leveraged finance dealsRefinancings and restructuringsFund and investment-related financingsCross-border lending transactionsGeneral corporate debt and financing mattersYou'll work directly with partners and clients, helping to manage transactions, lead workstreams and build trusted relationships with lenders, borrowers and sponsors.
You'll also have opportunities to contribute to business development initiatives, develop sector expertise and support the continued growth of the team.
What We're Looking ForWe're looking for an ambitious, commercially minded lawyer who enjoys working collaboratively and delivering excellent client service.
You'll ideally have:4+ years' PQE gained within a recognised Banking & Finance practiceStrong experience advising lenders and/or borrowers on corporate banking transactionsExperience of acquisition finance, leveraged finance, asset-backed lending or other complex financing transactionsExcellent drafting, negotiation and transaction management skillsExperience managing workstreams and taking increasing responsibility on transactionsStrong commercial awareness and sound judgementA proactive and collaborative approachQualification as a solicitor in England & Wales (or an equivalent common law jurisdiction)Most importantly, you'll be someone who enjoys building relationships, taking ownership of your work and contributing to a supportive and ambitious team culture.
