Help shape the future of pricing at a leading UK law firm. As the legal market continues to evolve, so does the way firms price their work. We are looking for a Pricing Manager who is commercially minded and confident partnering with senior stakeholders to develop innovative pricing solutions that drive profitable growth.
In this role, you will work closely with Partners, legal teams, Business Development and senior finance colleagues to shape fee strategies, design pricing models, and provide insights that influence the firm’s commercial performance.
Your Role
As our Pricing Manager, you will be at the forefront of developing commercially robust pricing proposals and providing strategic input across pitches, RFPs, and client negotiations. You will also play a key role in enhancing matter profitability through strong financial analysis, disciplined scoping, and proactive commercial risk management. You will work alongside the Head of Commercial Finance, contributing to future-focused pricing strategies, developing tools and templates, and supporting the firm’s growing portfolio of alternative fee arrangements and AI-enabled service models.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Act as a trusted advisor to partners on scoping, resourcing and fee strategy and prepare clear pricing options with associated risks and opportunities.
- Create pricing models for large matters, panels and portfolios and assess sensitivities on scope, role mix, pricing and recovery.
- Develop the firm’s profit index metric, deliver quarterly client P&L analysis, and conduct annual profitability reviews with client partners if required.
- Shape the firm’s annual rate review and oversee rate card maintenance and standardisation in partnership with Operational Finance.
- Drive continuous improvement, track market and client trends, and develop pricing approaches for new products and AI-enabled services.
- Create pricing best-practice guidance, support lawyers’ commercial awareness, and help embed a culture of financial discipline and transparency.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong commercial finance or pricing experience.
- Credible business partnering skills with the confidence to engage senior stakeholders.
- Advanced Excel, financial modelling and analytical capability.
- A collaborative, proactive and curious mindset; able to balance detail with strategic insight.
- Ability to coach others and contribute to a supportive, growth-oriented culture.
- Accountancy qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) is preferable.
