Do you thrive in a role where you can make a real impact on early careers strategy and delivery? Burges Salmon is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Emerging Talent Resourcing Specialist to join our award-winning People team. We are really excited to base someone in our Edinburgh office – with plenty of support from across the Resourcing team balanced with the freedom and responsibility to represent the Emerging Talent agenda for Burges Salmon in Scotland.

This is more than just a recruitment role. You will be at the heart of our trainee and apprenticeship programmes, helping to attract, assess, and support the next generation of legal professionals. From law fairs and school outreach to assessment centres and onboarding, you will play a central role in delivering inclusive and engaging campaigns that reflect our values and commitment to hiring exceptional graduates and school leavers.

As the first People team member in Edinburgh, you will have the unique opportunity to shape our presence in Scotland, acting as the key point of contact for our Edinburgh-based trainees and local recruitment and development initiatives. You will also work closely with the wider emerging talent team to support Bristol based activity and ensure a consistent and high-quality experience across both locations.

What you will be doing:

  • Working closely with our resourcing business partner, support recruitment campaigns across universities and schools, with a focus on Scotland.
  • Organise and attend events, from law fairs to insight days and Bright Sparks work experience.
  • Run assessment centres and interviews, and support onboarding and development.
  • Act as the go-to person for Edinburgh trainees, providing guidance and support throughout their journey.
  • Champion diversity and inclusion through innovative attraction strategies and our Social Mobility Index work.

What we are looking for:

  • Experience in graduate or legal trainee recruitment.
  • Strong communication, organisation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • A proactive, resilient, and collaborative approach - especially important as the sole People team member in Edinburgh.
  • A passion for early careers and a drive to make a difference.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a firm that values innovation, inclusion, and the development of its people. If you are ready to take the next step in your resourcing career and help shape the future of legal talent in Scotland, we would love to hear from you.
