In this role, you will be instrumental in growing and strengthening Bureau Veritas’ buildings capability in Western Australia, leading complex projects from strategic inception through to delivery, handover and post‑completion, while building trusted client relationships and a high‑performing local team.

The Opportunity

As Project Director, you will provide leadership across the entire project lifecycle, acting as a strategic partner and trusted advisor to clients from early strategy through design, procurement, construction delivery and operational transition. You will set the standard for delivery excellence, governance and professional leadership, while contributing directly to the growth, performance and market presence of Bureau Veritas in Perth. This role blends hands‑on project leadership with people leadership, client advisory and business development, offering genuine scope to shape both projects and careers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the full lifecycle management of complex buildings projects, from early strategy through design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.
  • Provide Project Director–level governance and leadership across cost, program, risk, quality, safety, procurement and commercial outcomes; take accountability for project financial performance, client satisfaction and delivery in accordance with contractual obligations.
  • Oversee programme performance, including delay mitigation and extension of time assessment; be accountable for project financial performance.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to Clients, supporting informed decision‑making and delivering strategic value beyond traditional project management.
  • Build, mentor and inspire a high‑performing team of Project Managers and Senior Project Managers, fostering capability, accountability and career development.
  • Drive collaboration across Bureau Veritas’ multidisciplinary technical, advisory and assurance services to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Actively contribute to business development, pursuits and strategic growth, helping expand Bureau Veritas’ buildings portfolio across Perth and Western Australia.
  • Represent Bureau Veritas in the market with confidence and integrity, strengthening our brand, reputation and Client relationships.

About You

You are a respected and credible project leader with 10+ years’ experience delivering buildings projects within a consultancy and/or client‑side property development environment, and you’re ready to operate at a strategic, market‑facing level. You will bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications in construction, engineering, architecture, construction, project management or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Project Director, Senior Project Manager or equivalent, leading complex, multidiscipline projects.
  • Strong technical project management capability across the full project lifecycle.
  • Proven experience managing project financial performance, reporting and contractual obligations.
  • A deep understanding of the consultancy environment, including commercial drivers, governance frameworks and client expectations.
  • Proven success as a people leader, with a genuine passion for developing talent and building engaged teams.
  • Exceptional stakeholder, client and relationship‑building skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen, sound judgement and a proactive, solutions‑focused approach.
