At Bureau Veritas, we support organisations to manage risk responsibly, proportionately and with confidence. We’re now looking for a Health & Safety Consultant to join our team, working in a client‑embedded environment and supporting the day‑to‑day delivery of high‑quality Health & Safety services.
This role is ideal for a developing H&S professional who wants hands‑on experience in a complex operational setting, exposure to senior stakeholders, and a clear pathway toward Diploma and Chartered progression.
The Role
As a Health & Safety Consultant, you’ll work closely with client stakeholders and senior Bureau Veritas consultants, supporting practical and compliant Health & Safety delivery. You will:
- Support day‑to‑day Health & Safety activities within a client‑embedded environment
- Work collaboratively with client teams and BV colleagues to deliver agreed H&S support
- Assist in the development, review and maintenance of risk assessments, policies and safe systems of work
- Provide advice on Health & Safety legislation and best practice, with appropriate support and supervision
- Support incident reporting, investigations and follow‑up actions
- Contribute to audits, inspections and assurance activities
- Maintain clear, accurate records, reports and documentation
- Attend meetings and site activities aligned with your role and scope
- Escalate risks, issues or uncertainties to Senior or Principal Consultants as appropriate
- Operate in line with client site rules, Bureau Veritas governance, technical frameworks and Code of Ethics
This is a hands‑on consultancy role where learning, development and professional judgement are actively supported.

Essential Qualifications & Experience
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent)
- Working knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and guidance
- Experience supporting Health & Safety activities in an advisory or operational setting
Desirable
- NEBOSH Diploma or progression toward Diploma level
- Graduate or Technician IOSH membership (or working toward Chartered status)
- Experience in client‑embedded or multi‑site environments
- Exposure to audits or management systems (e.g. ISO 45001)
