In this role you perform independent TR19 Grease inspections of commercial kitchen extract systems to verify compliance with the fire risk management standard. You work with landlords, property owners, and facilities teams to gather records and produce precise inspection reports. The position combines field inspections, often at night, with report-writing and document handling to support a broad London rollout. You will join a team focused on safety, regulatory compliance, and accurate, timely assessments.

Responsibilities
- Conduct independent TR19 Grease inspections of commercial kitchen extract systems
- Assess system condition, cleanliness, and compliance with industry standards
- Record findings and prepare comprehensive inspection reports
- Obtain access, maintenance records and supporting documentation from site representatives
- Liaise professionally with tenants, facilities teams and client representatives
- Submit completed reports within agreed timescales
Key requirements
- Sound understanding of the TR19 Grease Standard and commercial kitchen extract systems
- Knowledge of canopy grease filters, grease separators, sound attenuators, airflow components, extract fans, GTT measurements, UV filtration, water-wash canopy, carbon filtration, ESP, fire suppression, ecology units, and maintenance regimes
- Qualifications: BESA Grease Hygiene Technician (GHT) or BESA Grease Hygiene Operative (GHO) or equivalent experience in the kitchen extract ventilation industry
- Ability to work independently and secure site access and relevant maintenance records
- Strong report-writing and Excel/Word skills
- Willingness to undertake regular night work and flexible hours
- Ability to work from home when preparing reports
