Overview
Mechanical Engineer Surveyor – Crane / Lift – County Armagh, Northern Ireland. Field based with daily travel to client sites. Bureau Veritas North America is seeking a qualified engineer to perform crane and lifting equipment inspections and deliver expert service.

Location: Field based with daily travel to client sites; localised geographical areas where possible.
Salary: £42,148 to £45,232 pa, Car Allowance of £5,000 pa/Company Car, OT available, up to 12% Pension, Health Care, and other flexible benefits.
Role purpose
To carry out high quality inspections ensuring various crane / lifting equipment (MEWPS, HIAB, Cranes, FLTs) are compliant with current regulatory and statutory requirements under LOLER & PUWER. Operate within agreed authorities, inspection and H&S standards with a clear customer focus and drive to achieve optimal service delivery.
To produce and deliver inspection reports using Bureau Veritas’s on-site reporting tools, keeping clients informed of changes in relevant standards and legislation. Act as an advisor to high-profile clients and deliver customer excellence in a professional, friendly, and authoritative manner.
Responsibilities
- Carry out inspections on crane and lifting equipment (MEWPS, HIAB, Cranes, FLTs) to ensure compliance with LOLER and PUWER.
- Produce accurate inspection reports using Bureau Veritas tools and provide immediate client access to findings.
- Engage with clients to deliver excellent service and professional guidance on safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Minimum NVQ4, HNC, HND or equivalent mechanical engineering qualification.
- LEEA qualifications are preferred alongside a relevant mechanically biased engineering qualification.
- Minimum three to five years’ post-qualification experience with relevant equipment.
- Current clean UK driving license.
