Location: Aberdeen, Elgin, or Inverness

Starting Salary: £40,816 plus a car allowance of £4,250 per annum or a company car, fuel card, OT available, up to 12% pension, healthcare, and other flexible benefits

Role Purpose: To operate independently and as part of a team in conducting high-quality examinations of electrical installations, with a clear customer focus and driving optimal service delivery.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate in line with Bureau Veritas Core Values and Code of Ethics.
  • Utilize all operational systems to ensure accurate data entry and reflection.
  • Work as an integrated team member while maintaining individual ownership of inspection and technical activities.
  • Complete examinations and testing within scheduled timeframes.
  • Prepare and distribute inspection reports professionally within designated timescales.
  • Adhere to Bureau Veritas Health and Safety procedures.
  • Conduct electrical safety tests on portable appliances in customer premises according to the Code of Practice and Health & Safety regulations.
  • Perform inspections within authorized parameters and document activities as per company methods.
  • Provide technical and legislative advice to clients, team members, and external bodies as needed.
  • Build and maintain excellent client relationships, ensuring customer service standards are met.
  • Coordinate with Regional Planner to ensure daily plan completion, communicating any changes.
  • Stay updated on standards and legislation affecting electrical installations and support necessary changes.
  • Represent the company, utilizing technical expertise when required.
  • Identify potential business opportunities and advise relevant business areas.
  • Collaborate with Area Managers and Regional Directors to meet regional KPIs.

Experience & Skills Required:

  • Relevant electrical knowledge.
  • Previous experience in a similar role or time-served apprenticeship with 18th edition certification.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Knowledge of industry trends, legislation, and H&S requirements.

Qualifications Required:

  • 18th Edition regulations.
  • City & Guilds Part 1, 2, and 3 or Level 3 City and Guilds 2365 Diploma in Electrical Installation (HNC desirable).
  • City & Guilds 2391 or 2394/5 courses (or equivalent).
  • Valid UK driving license.
  • GCSEs in Maths and English or equivalent.
