Bureau Veritas are excited to say that we have multiple long-term opportunities for Mechanical Clerk of Works to join us on a prestigious UK Defence project based in the South East of England. These roles are located at a highly secure working site and will require Security Clearance and therefore successful candidates must be a UK passport holder. The roles will be outside of IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor the progress and quality of mechanical installations, such as HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems
- Identify any defects or non-conformances and work with the contractors to ensure timely corrective actions are taken
- Maintain detailed records of site inspections, test results, and any issues or deviations from the approved plans
- Ensure the mechanical systems are tested and commissioned according to the project requirements
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical field
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Mechanical Clerk of Works/NEC3/NEC4 Supervisor or in a similar role
- Thorough understanding of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection
- Strong knowledge of relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards
