Bureau Technical Services are seeking multiple Senior Design Engineers to join a major Net Zero infrastructure project based in Teesside. This isn’t a traditional design role. Instead, you’ll be reviewing designs, challenging them, and ensuring they can actually be built, playing a key role in how projects are delivered on site.
Responsibilities
- Review designs across structural, geotechnical and temporary works
- Ensure designs are buildable and aligned with construction methods
- Identify risks early and drive resolution before they become issues
- Lead design reviews and provide technical assurance across projects
- Work closely with delivery, pre‑construction and external consultants
- Act as a technical authority within the team
Requirements
- Strong experience in temporary works and/or ground engineering
- Background in steel structures or concrete (foundations, heavy civils, industrial buildings)
- Ability to challenge designs and influence senior stakeholders
- Broad understanding of structural, geotechnical and construction methods
- Ideally Chartered (MICE / MIStructE), but strong non‑chartered candidates considered
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, delivery‑focused environment
