JOB PURPOSE
We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to lead our Merchandising, Product Planning and Pricing product portfolio, bridging the gap between business needs and technical requirements for technology and reporting solutions. You will work in partnership with business experts and technology teams to identify & implement solutions to meet the needs of our evolving business. You will lead a team of Product Managers and Business Analysts and work in partnership with Solution Architects and development teams. This role is reporting to the Business Relationship Director, Product.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Vision, Strategy, Roadmap
• Understand Burberry’s strategic objectives and their alignment to business capability maturity within your domain to deliver products that are aligned to business ambition
• Deeply analyse end user needs, business capability impact and develop business cases to address them with measurable impact to drive capability maturity
• Develop a comprehensive product roadmap to deliver business goals with defined KPI\’s achieving one or more of revenue growth, operational cost reduction or legislative compliance
• Define and analyse metrics that inform the success of products
Evangelism, Awareness, Alignment
• Establish shared vision across the company by building consensus on priorities leading to product execution
• Drive product development with a team of world-class architects, engineers and designers
• Ability to communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Work cross-functionally and with the architecture and development teams to bring and integrated product offering to end users
Minimal Product, Test & Learn
• Build and manage a backlog of user stories/requirements and prioritise for delivery
• Maximize efficiency in a constantly evolving environment using Minimal Viable Product delivery, and rapid prototyping
• Design experiments, analyse patterns and trends, and optimize existing products
• Strong analytical background, data driven reasoning, and ability to understand key performance drivers
Insight, Competitors, Market, Trends
• Identify new opportunities and their applicability to Burberry to drive innovation and continuous improvement
• Understanding of the most recent trends in merchandising, pricing and planning functions and the capabilities to support them e.g. analytics
PERSONAL PROFILE
Qualification and Skill
• Must have excellent written and communication skills and be extremely detail oriented
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to logically analyse complex requirements, processes and systems to put solutions in place
• BCS Certification in Business Analysis (or comparable) ideal but not required
Experience
• Ability to interact with and understand technical subjects and emerging technologies and their relevance to the marketplace
• Strong business understanding of Merchandising, Planning and Pricing functions within a retail environment, ideally Fashion/Luxury
• Experience working with architecture, design, engineering teams, vendors, and offshore development to deliver end to end products
• Experience managing small to medium sized teams
