JOB PURPOSE

The Senior Manager, Technology Transformation is responsible for driving continuous transformation across Burberry IT, ensuring that technology capabilities and ways of working continually evolve, enabling the delivery of our Technology Strategy and ensuring that changes are effectively embedded, adopted and sustained over time.

The role partners closely with the IT leadership to shape transformation narrative, improve engagement and trust across IT and the business, and ensure that change is coordinated, communicated, and supported consistently across the technology organisation.

The role is also responsible for defining and maintaining the technology transformation scorecard and associated strategic progress measures, ensuring leadership has clear visibility of organisational effectiveness, capability evolution, adoption progress and delivery against Burberry’s Technology Forward strategy.

It provides the central capability for transformation coordination, change management, communications and engagement across IT, connecting strategic change priorities and evolving ways of working to measurable behavioural and operational outcomes while working closely with the Portfolio Management Office SIAM, Enterprise Architecture and Delivery teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive continuous transformation across IT, ensuring new ways of working and capabilities are embedded and sustained over time.
  • Continuously evolve the Technology Forward roadmap, ensuring transformation priorities remain aligned to strategic business and technology objectives.
  • Define and maintain the Technology Forward transformation scorecard, establishing measurable indicators of organisational effectiveness, capability evolution, adoption, operational maturity and strategic progress across the technology organisation.
  • Identify and coordinate opportunities to improve cross-functional ways of working, operational effectiveness and organisational alignment across technology and business functions.
  • Provide leadership with transformation insight and organisational effectiveness reporting, supporting informed decision-making on technology operating model evolution and strategic priorities.
  • Work closely with the Portfolio Management Office, SIAM and other teams to support adoption and engagement activities associated with portfolio and transformation initiatives.
  • Lead IT communications, engagement and messaging, ensuring clear, consistent narratives aligned to Burberry Forward across IT and the business.
  • Own and govern the IT intranet and knowledge management experience, ensuring technology information, policies, standards, processes and communications remain current, accessible and aligned to team needs.
  • Partner with content owners across IT and business teams to maintain content quality, establish review cycles, manage homepage content, and drive continuous improvement in information discoverability and user engagement.
  • Own IT-wide change management activities for transformation and operating model evolution, including defining adoption measures, tracking behavioural change and embedding new ways of working
  • Define, track and report strategic non-financial transformation outcomes, including organisational effectiveness, operational maturity, risk reduction, compliance improvement, audit remediation progress and cross-functional optimisation measures.
  • Drive continuous improvement of transformation and engagement processes, ensuring changes to ways of working remain lightweight, scalable and minimally disruptive to delivery teams.
  • PERSONAL PROFILE
  • Experience defining and measuring strategic transformation outcomes, organisational maturity indicators or balanced scorecards within a technology organisation.
  • Experience coordinating transformation activities across multiple teams without direct ownership, driving alignment, engagement and outcomes.
  • Strong change management capability, including defining and embedding new ways of working and tracking behavioural adoption.
  • Excellent communication and engagement skills, with experience crafting clear narratives for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience working closely with senior leadership (CIO/VP level) to shape consistent transformation messaging across different levels and functions.
  • Strong stakeholder management across IT and business functions.
  • Understanding of IT operating models, ways of working, capability evolution and practical challenges associated with embedding new ways of working across complex delivery environments
