Overview
The role is integral to delivering the Men's Leather Goods business, as it involves planning the investment in the category and analyzing trade to maximize opportunities for the company.
Job Purpose: A fantastic opportunity to join our EMEIA planning team based at our iconic HQ. As a Planner, your objective will be to drive the business through strategic seasonal merchandise planning, controlled inventory management, actionable reporting, and insightful commercial analysis. By joining our team, you will support the creation of a world-class, digitally enabled, and integrated end-to-end planning and analysis function that thinks commercially, connects across functions, and delivers efficient merchandise processes.
Purpose of Role: This position will drive all replenishment planning activities globally within Burberry's global planning organisation. You will embody Burberry's values and contribute to a culture of innovation and collaboration.
Key responsibilities
- Assessing Global Replenishment forecasts and fostering accountability for forecast accuracy
- Maintaining Global rolling line cards for Replenishment items and ensuring adherence to the monthly critical path
- Collaborating with regions to identify and maximize opportunities in Replenishment products
- Determining long-range forecasting to support key vendor strategy
Responsibilities
- Replenishment OTB Management
- Maintain Global Replenishment line cards and ensure adherence to global Weeks of Cover targets for stores and hubs
- Drive the Global Replenishment Buy process across all lines within the division, through SPI or Regional Buys, actualizing seasonal plans
- Determine weekly allocation of SPI products to maintain target stock levels in stores and hubs
- Work alongside the Director of Retail Merchandising, Division, to evaluate monthly trading with regional teams, assess in-season management decisions, and identify potential inventory rebalances
- Prepare insightful commercial analyses highlighting missed opportunities and providing hindsight for future collection development, especially regarding regional ranging
- Collaborate with the Director of Retail Merchandising on stock weeks of cover, overlay adjustments, and future buys
- Coordinate regular free stock drops to optimize replenishment inventory
- Support the Director of Retail Merchandising with vendor projections across all product lines (seasonal, carry forward, replenishment) on a quarterly and annual basis (up to 3 years out) to assist Supply Planning
- Forecast and plan replenishment margin for input into the Director of Retail Merchandising, Division
Additional Responsibilities
- Complete critical category analysis to support pre-market and seasonal reviews, including regional OTB, product exits, key product deep-dives, and option productivity
- Provide input to seasonal floorset, recommending volume segmentations and collaborating with Merchandising to maintain the fashion buy
- Offer input and recommendations for in-season trading for both fashion and replenishment lines
- Support end-of-season sales forecasting and implementation, including forecasting opening sale inventory, proposing sale discounts, uploading pricing, and managing communication to store teams
- Perform weekly category analysis and re-forecasting, including replenishment, trade analysis, regional OTB, in-stock analysis, and aged inventory across all channels
- Work effectively as part of a cross-functional team (Merchandising, Planning, Allocation), focusing on shared objectives and clear communication
Personal Profile
- Proven experience as a Planner
- Strong planning and forecasting skills
- Decision-making driven by strategic product and business initiatives
- High proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Experience with SAP/BRRS preferred
- Experience with PLM software preferred
