JOB PURPOSE

The Line Manager Advisory Service (LMAS) Advisor provides coaching and advice to UK line managers on HR matters, if they are unable to resolve their HR query via self-service or via AskHR. The LMAS Advisor will provide timely and effective guidance on a broad range of HR and people-related matters and support the upskilling of our leaders in line with our B Manager and B Leader principles. The LMAS Advisor offers expert advice, coaching, and support while signposting to relevant policies, procedures, and resources. The role ensures consistent and compliant application of HR practices, enabling managers to confidently handle day-to-day people management responsibilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as a point of contact for UK-based line managers (if they cannot resolve their query via self-service tools / AskHR), managing people-related queries via Helix case management system.
  • Provide clear, consistent guidance on Burberry's HR policies and processes, including talent & performance management, DE&I, feedback, absence, and informal employee relations.
  • Escalate complex or sensitive cases to HR Business Partners or Centres of Expertise (COEs) as appropriate.
  • Coach and challenge managers through key cyclical people activities, such as goal setting, feedback, and reward reviews, ensuring alignment with business context.
  • Promote the use of self-service tools (e.g. Connect) and ensure adherence to correct process channels for all HR transactions.
  • Support managers in embedding diversity and inclusion principles into all aspects of people management.
  • Deliver proactive, business-facing HR advice that helps managers engage and develop their teams and promote their own growth as a leader, addressing issues early to avoid escalation.
  • Track and analyse trends in manager queries to inform ongoing service improvement, knowledge development and to help develop improved HR policies and tools.

PERSONAL PROFILE

  • Breadth and depth of knowledge across HR best practice and employee lifecycle.
  • Experience working as an HR generalist or in HR Shared Services, leveraging case management and KPIs.
  • Experienced in Human Resources with proven capability experience in delivering talent management, ER, track record of effective partnering, considers business needs and links value to business results.
  • Excellent communication and coaching skills.
  • Confidence in advising and challenging line managers diplomatically.
  • Organised, with strong attention to detail and documentation.
  • Good understanding of UK Employment law.

  • Partnering effectiveness and connectivity with designated client groups and the wider HR Operational Team.
  • All tasks performed on time and as per SLA.
