Burberry is seeking a Designer, Architecture to join our London-based team. This is a unique opportunity to influence the aesthetic and architectural identity of one of the world's most iconic British luxury brands. Working across global store projects from flagship concepts to intimate installations, you'll create compelling environments that bring our brand vision to life. As a Designer within the Architecture team, you'll play a pivotal role in developing innovative retail spaces across the globe. You will contribute to the full creative journey: from research and conceptual ideation, to detailed design and communication of final project solutions. This role offers the chance to collaborate across multiple creative disciplines, including furniture, fixtures, finishes, and experiential pop-ups crafting ideas that translate into memorable customer experiences.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Research and generate design ideas across multiple concurrent projects.
- Shape narratives that define each store concept - from flagships to concessions.
- Communicate design intent through sketches, hand drawings, renders, and technical drawings.
- Develop designs independently and refine them based on team feedback.
- Prepare design packs for internal and external presentation.
- Take ownership of smaller projects under guidance from the Senior Designer.
- Detail designs using the right tools to support external partners and contractors.
- Conduct creative research and create mood boards that build a strong design story.
- Source innovative materials with sustainability at the forefront.
- Monitor trends in retail design, styling, and customer behaviour.
- Execute store layout simulations in collaboration with the wider design team.
- Manage external studios producing design development or construction drawings.
PERSONAL PROFILE
- Degree in Architecture or Interior Design.
- Proficient in Vectorworks and Photoshop.
- Experience in architectural design within luxury retail is highly desirable.
- Strong creative sensibility and a confident point of view.
- Technically capable, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively.
- Knowledge of current industry trends and competitive design approaches.
- Highly organised, adaptable, and proactive.
- Excellent communication skills; able to present and articulate ideas clearly.
- A collaborative team player with strong initiative.
