JOB PURPOSE

As the Employee Relations Manager you will lead on the policy design, development, and implementation of employee relations policies and frameworks that support our People Strategy contributing to delivery and execution of Burberry Forward as well as creating a positive and inclusive workplace culture.

RESPONSIBILITIES

You will focus on

Policy Design & Implementation

  • Develop, review, and update ER policies and guides in line with current employment legislation and operational needs.
  • Ensure all policies are accessible, inclusive, and reflect our values and DEI (Diversity, Equity & Inclusion) commitments.
  • Collaborate with legal and HR COEs, and business stakeholders to ensure policies are comprehensive, practical, and consistently applied.
  • Provide advice and guidance to other business areas on policy development and implementation

Manager Guidance & Toolkits

  • Partner with ER Manager – Cases Escalations & Change Management and B:Managers Advisory Service Manager to develop, write and maintain manager guides and toolkits to support the effective and confident handling of ER matters (e.g. performance, conduct, resolution).
  • Deliver training sessions or briefings to leaders, and HR colleagues on ER policies, processes, and best practices.

Change Programme Design

  • Lead or contribute to the design and delivery of employee relations elements of organisational change programmes (e.g. restructures, culture transformation).
  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure effective consultation and communication plans are in place.
  • Work in partnership with ER Manager (Cases) to deliver and execute change programmes as and when required.

Governance & Compliance

  • Monitor developments in employment legislation and best practices, advising on implications for policy and practice.
  • Design strategies for new policy or policy refresh roll outs
  • Responsible for Policies and Processes version control and maintaining relevant records.

PERSONAL PROFILE

  • Proven experience in an employee relations or HR policy role
  • Strong track record of designing and implementing ER policies and processes from concept to execution.
  • Demonstrated experience writing manager-facing guidance and delivering policy-related training ensuring accessible language throughout.
  • Experience in supporting or leading the ER aspects of organisational change programmes.
  • Excellent knowledge of UK employment law (understanding of international ER frameworks would be beneficial).
  • Experience of working in a global organisation with ability to think globally and act locally
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to translate complex policy or legislation into practical and easy to follow guidance.
  • Comfortable working autonomously and influencing at all levels of the business.
