JOB PURPOSE

The management of key procurement processes within the relevant category (from Source to Contract), including spend analysis, executing sourcing events, supplier due diligence and contract management. Responsible for implementing the Supply Chain category strategy, delivering optimal commercial outcomes that will directly benefit Burberry\’s P&L, while also managing risk and ensuring compliance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Global category management of one or more subcategories, as directed by the Senior Category Manager.
  • Collaboration with internal stakeholders across all regions to improve alignment and achieve business objectives.
  • Support category planning processes, including procurement activity planning and project delivery, utilising spend cube and other analytics to deliver data-driven insights to the business.
  • Executing sourcing events (RFI/RFP/Auction) providing analysis, negotiation and recommendations.
  • New supplier due diligence and onboarding
  • Contract management, including effective collaboration with Legal to ensure quality contracts are in place with credible suppliers, and the ongoing management of the contract database.
  • Provide regular reporting on savings, projects and supplier performance
  • Supporting the improvement of content available in Ask Procurement, and responding to Procurement related queries from across the relevant category.
  • Participate in ad hoc projects to support the Burberry Forward strategy, providing procurement process expertise and input across a variety of indirect spend areas in category.
  • Take an active role in lifting the activities of the procurement team to Best in Class level

PERSONAL PROFILE

  • Proven experience in a commercial procurement function or strategic sourcing role, with relevant category expertise.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to inspire trust and confidence
  • Ability to take ownership of the completion of tasks as well as identifying issues and potential resolutions.
  • Great customer facing skills ensuring that business stakeholders are satisfied with the services delivered
  • Ability to deliver tangible results whilst working in a challenging and ever-changing environment
  • Ability to face and resolve multiple issues in a collaborative manner
  • Good Excel / analytical and presentation skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Self-motivated, dynamic, with a positive attitude
  • Flexible, prepared to get into the detail, as well as see the big picture.
