As Archive Collections Manager, you safeguard Burberry’s heritage by leading preservation, governance and operations for our diverse archive. You’ll oversee acquisitions, conservation and replicas, coordinating with Design, Product, Creative and Brand Protection to ensure access while maintaining high standards. The role combines hands-on collection care with strategic, cross-location archive management and risk mitigation. You will develop the Archive team and drive efficient, compliant archival workflows that support the business and future generations. This is an opportunity to shape how Burberry's history informs innovation and sustainable luxury.
Responsibilities
- Lead the preservation, audit and lifecycle management of the archive collections to highest standards.
- Oversee acquisitions, conservation activities and archive replicas, coordinating with partners to deliver on time and budget.
- Drive archive operations, including systems, policies, procedures and risk plans across multiple locations.
- Provide expert guidance and research support to Design, Product, Styling, Brand Protection and other functions.
- Manage archive logistics, shipments and storage projects, ensuring regulatory and operational compliance.
- Lead and develop the Archive Assistant and collaborate with teams across locations.
Key requirements
- Proven experience in collections management within an archive, museum, heritage or related environment.
- Strong knowledge of collections management systems and data/process management.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Clear and effective communication with diverse stakeholders.
- Collaborative, solution-focused mindset with ability to work independently and make informed decisions.
