Location: Shockerwick House Care Home, Lower Shockerwick, Bath BA1 7LL

Contract: Permanent - Full Time

Hours: 32 hours over 4 shifts per week (working days are negotiable)

Salary: £13.40 to £14.40 per hour dependent on experience

This role requires you to have your own transport due to the home's location.

Shockerwick House is an historic building that has been lovingly converted into a care facility, offering nursing and residential care, convalescence, palliative, short stays for a minimum of one week and day care. The home has a secure entry and exit system and a 24-hour call system so that residents feel safe and secure. All bedrooms have their own TV and telephone. Special diets are catered for and the home has magnificent, oak-panelled dining rooms. Hot and cold options are included and snacks and drinks are available throughout the day and night.

Senior Housekeepers ensure that every corner of our care home sparkles. They lead a dedicated team of housekeepers, inspiring them to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene. You'll help us make health happen by:

  • Always ensuring high standards of cleanliness within our home, working closely with the maintenance and management teams to ensure every room is well looked after.
  • Leading by example, vacuuming, mopping floors, polishing and generally ensuring the upkeep of all communal areas and our residents' bedrooms.
  • Supervising housekeeping and laundry assistants, managing staff rotas, any training that is required and ensuring that all housekeeping and domestic items are in stock or replenished accordingly.

Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:

  • Experience in a housekeeping role, always completing work to high standards and taking pride in maintaining an organised environment.
  • Strong communication skills, able to confidently lead and motivate a team to deliver the best service, while also being happy working independently, prioritising and delegating tasks amongst your team where necessary.
  • An approachable and caring nature, enjoying getting to know each of our residents as well as working closely with other teams.
