Overview

Actuarial Undergraduate Placement Scheme

Locations: London, Salford Quays (Manchester) & Staines

Hybrid working options available

Duration: 1 Year Rotation

Salary: £25,000 – £27,500 per year (dependent on location) + Fantastic Benefits

Hours: Full time 35 hours per week

Start Date: September 2026

Responsibilities

During the placement you will complete a rotation in one of our actuarial functions, which may include:

  • Pricing

  • Reserving

  • Regulatory Reporting

  • Claims Analytics

  • Group Actuarial

No two days are the same during the 12-month placement. You’ll face a well-balanced mix of challenges, mutual support and accelerated skills development through our development programme. You’ll also shadow senior colleagues to gain valuable insight and expand your network.

At the end of a successful placement, there is potential to be fast-tracked for a place on our graduate scheme.

Qualifications and Training

  • Must have the right to work in the UK

  • Current undergraduate student in your penultimate year of your degree

  • Numerical based degree, such as Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or Economics.

  • Be on track to achieve at least a 2.1 in your degree

  • Have achieved an ABB at A-Level or equivalent, with a minimum grade in A-Level in Maths (or equivalent).

Skills and Knowledge

  • Curious and inquisitive, challenging the status quo, flexible and adaptable and tenacious and resilient

  • An interest in developing deep analysis of large data sets by leveraging tools such as AI and coding

  • Effective self-organisation and ability to plan ahead, to complete tasks to deadlines.

  • Good problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Team player, able to work collaboratively with others and influence.

  • Strong self-awareness with a drive and commitment to own development

  • Able to take a commercial approach

  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
