The Senior New Proposition Development Manager is responsible for developing the portfolio of propositions that best serves and supports Bupa UKI customers and delivers competitive advantage for Bupa while ensuring fair treatment of customers throughout. This role works closely with key stakeholders within medical and healthcare, health services, commercial, digital, product teams, marketing, as well as other critical stakeholder functions such as sales and service.
As this role has a strong orientation to designing and developing propositions that will support UKI's future growth ambition, driving P&L and commercial success, it involves management of stakeholders at a senior level, including influencing and supporting executive team members.
How You’ll Help Us Make Health Happen
- Working alongside the Director of Product Discovery & Development, design and develop propositions which build on market opportunities and improve on the existing customer propositions.
- Fully understand customer needs and experience and continuously refine the proposition portfolio to ensure that we fulfil these needs, improve experience and outcomes for customers, and deliver on our commercial and regulatory objectives.
- Responsible for the sound and prudent management of the Product Discovery & Development team.
- Responsible for the delivery of the agreed proposition plan and portfolio.
- Lead cross-functional teams of experts to deliver compelling and market-leading customer propositions.
- Act as a source of expertise within the business and develop more junior members of the team.
- Ensure business decisions are assessed to ensure good customer and regulatory outcomes.
- Ensure decisions are made within delegated authorities, risk appetite, and are compliant with applicable laws and regulations.
Key Skills / Qualifications Needed For This Role
- Strong track record of successfully designing and developing propositions (digital and non-digital) in comparable organisations (healthcare, financial services, mobile, utilities, retail banking).
- Although the role is not a technical delivery role, experience of working with Transformation, Change and IT to deliver digital propositions is advantageous.
- Strong influencing and senior stakeholder management skills.
- Strong customer focus, especially good understanding of customers, their needs and their purchasing behaviours.
- Training and experience in major aspects of the marketing mix particularly product and service design, ideally in a digital context.
- Ability to think both strategically and commercially with a good understanding of overall business dynamics.
- Financially aware with good grasp of the importance and key elements of P&L and associated levers.
- Structured and analytical with strong quantitative skills (including good knowledge of Excel).
