Basinghall Clinic is Cromwell Hospitals outpatient diagnostic centre located in the heart of the city. The Clinic provides a range of services led by consultants, who are highly experienced and specialise in areas including Orthopaedics, Sports and Exercise Management, Physiotherapy, Dermatology, Cardiology, Osteopathy, Mammography and Pain Management.
The post holder will be based in the Mammography Department at Basinghall Clinic, and will work closely with the Clinic Manager, Breast Services and Mammography Lead to maintain and enhance the Breast Service. A flexible and adaptive working attitude is crucial. The candidate should use their initiative in responding to the needs of the service, and have a strong focus on streamlining the patient pathway through the imaging department. The post holder will also be expected to work at the Cromwell Hospital and London Medical Centre when needed.
The Breast Imaging service is currently comprised of 1 state of the art Hologic 3Dimensions Mammography unit, which was installed in July 2021. Demand for the service is ever increasing which means that the department is a busy and dynamic place to work. A rapid diagnostic breast care service was launched in October 2021 and is a growing service at Basinghall Clinic.
You’ll help us make health happen by:
- Perform mammography to the highest standard with adherence to departmental policies, protocols and procedures.
- Organise workload in line with clinical priorities, working efficiently and independently.
- Maintain a high standard of imaging and patient care in accordance with the departmental standards and clinical governance.
- Carry out this role with empathy and understanding, assess the physical, emotional and mental needs of each individual and adjust technique accordingly.
- Perform quality control tests on imaging equipment, ensuring all results are within safe limits and reporting any variations to the manager.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date record keeping and partake in clinical audits.
- Promote clinical excellence in both professional and technical standards.
- Undertake other duties as and when required by the demands of the service.
Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:
- Registration with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) (essential)
- Minimum 3 years post grad experience
- Knowledge of radiation regulations
- Be fully conversant with the Radiology Information System (RIS), PACS, and the computerised method of patient and examination documentation.
Qualifications:
- BSc or DCR in Radiography as well as a Post Graduate Certificate in Mammography (essential)
- Post-Graduate certificate of competence in Mammography (essential)
