Responsibilities

  • Taking responsibility for the well‑being of our residents and making sure their physical, emotional and social needs are met.
  • Coaching and guiding the team, providing formal and informal teaching programmes for colleagues and other care professionals.
  • Carrying out assessments and developing, implementing and evaluating individualised care plans for each of our residents.
  • Monitoring work areas and practices to ensure they are safe and conform to the relevant standards, policies and legislation.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse with a valid NMC pin, responsible for managing the unit alongside clinical duties in the home, overseeing care, administering and ordering medication, reviewing and evaluating individual care plans, and providing clinical guidance to the care team and delivering best practice continually.
  • Previous experience ensuring policies and standards are kept to a high clinical standard.
  • Confidence offering clinical guidance for care teams, crucial in helping with all CQC tasks.
  • Highly trusted member of the team, enjoys building connections with residents and their family, giving them kindness and support they deserve.
  • Effective communication and reporting skills essential for handover of clinical issues to other team members and healthcare professionals.
  • When working at night, requires enhanced skills to ensure patient safety as working alone with limited support, strong critical thinking, confidence and self‑reliant ability to manage care staff and remain calm in an emergency.
